Chimera Mask (...a bit late)

Here is the second mask that I completed for the Vampire Ball here in Portland. A little simplier, but the results are just as stunning.

It was based on the Medusa Brooch by Lalique.


Of course-the brooch has the snakes going down-I needed them to be facing up( that is why the book is upside down). So here it is. Enjoy

Finishing Mask for Vampire Ball....kind of

I am almost done with this mask for Kambriel (a friend of Elisa) but am too tired to finish. BUT here is a peek of what is accomplished (The mask is actually 95% done-but I can't show it all now! Need to build the suspense)

I created a Sacred Heart for Elisa for a present (several Xmas' ago) and here I am moving it to another location.



I will find a better pic so that you can see the thorns and the wings better.

Found this on the digital camera while downloading some pics of my latest mask. This past January-we were hit unexpectedly by a snowstorm. Since I ride a Shadow, I left early. Here is what happened.

The work is never done.

The Vampire Masquerade Ball is coming up and I will have at least 2 masks attending. I will not give away the identities of the masks-but a clue.........reptiles and demons.

If Elisa and I go-then I will have to create 4 masks. Start the coffee pot!

Masking in Adobe PhotoShop

Here is the making of the bird mask. I used only printed flats that Russell sent me from Adobe. Barely made it-almost ran out of solid blue.

New Bird Mask

Greetings-
I created this as an inspired project for Adobe Systems with Russell Preston Brown. He showed me a very simple mask, made from a Photoshop box. The mask had two holes for the eyes and a large hole for the mouth. We both thought it would be cool to enhance this simple Photoshop masking idea and show how to make a feathered mask with Photoshop CS4. This bird mask was made entirely out of Adobe Photoshop CS4 boxes. Masking, feathering, packaging...it's all there!

New-ish Mask

Here is a revamp of the Bull Mask that I did for Elisa. This is the same style of the deer. I will try to find some pics of the mask up close. But for now-enjoy

Revamp of old series

Alright-I haven't been so good at keeping up to date (that lazy thing). BUT Elisa wanted to revisit her dream series with animals-so I present to you my deermask.

It's Complete!!!!!!! My Victorian Mech LIVES!!!

I finally completed (mostly) my Mech. Here are posted many pics of the finished piece. If I have time later-I may go back to add some more pipes and finish the front of the body (to truely look like an old iron horse). The mech stands 11 inches tall and is entirely paper-no wires, no string, no plastic (it does have pennies in the feet to keep it weighted). I am working on some other Steam Punk Mechs in the vein or PaperKraft and PaperForest.

Here, the feet are complete as well as the body. I had a design change from an upright Mech to more of a chicken walker like ED-209 or the AT-ST.





Here is the body. This side shows the gears...most of them. I am still finishing up some cogs and such.



And here is the pipe side with a better view of the Gatlin Gun (which is an authentic model from old Civil War pics)I have some more valve handles I want to add as well as maybe some chains (how I am going to make those out of paper-I'm still working on it)

SteamPunk Mechanized Walker

Construction has begun on a steam driven mechanized walking manlike machine of epic proportions. Crews have finished the boiler and the beams for the legs. Issues with the driver canopy have surfaced. The designer has not decided on whether to have a nice comfortable seat under a canopy or house the driver in an armored carapace. Updates to come....

New Project-Steampunk Mech

So, after my 4th of July project-I received alot of compliments about my mech (which didn't burn). So I am creating a series of 10 inch steampunk mechs. I just started on my first one-but here is the original







And here is where the hand launched off as planned and exploded. The gun fell off after the first missle took off-then spun in circles while the other 5 shot out. Then the smoke came, but no explosion. It now sits in my window.......handless.

I'm sooooooo lame.......

Okay-I am not doing this blog thing correctly. I haven't posted in several weeks as well as do any art for several weeks. I am still working on my Propaganda Poster as well as several masks. BUT my lazy butt has been laying about...lazily drinking Hot Buttered Rums playing Bioshock. Speaking of Bioshock-here is a Big Daddy Dunny I finished right before christmas. HA! I did do something.
Okay-I dont have a pic of the final-it's still in my camera-but here are a few before the final paint job.







For those who don't know what BioShock is-it's one of the best video game ever!!! Right behind Psychonauts or Worms or ..........EarthWorm Jim.

As for Dunnys....google it.

Earlier works

Haven't posted in a while. We had our biggest show at the end of February (my day job is in manufacturing as a tech illustrator) PLUS we had layoffs. We have our regular duties AND had to cover the extra work. My nights consisted of Rum and my Xbox.
Currently I am working on some art deco propaganda posters with a twist-but thought I should post something. I did these a while back-but the demon mask is still one of my favorites.
