Behind the Gates

Here is the mask I created for my wife, Visioluxus. The idea was a Victorian gate that grows into disrepair and chaotic bramble.

First Mask of 2014

Finally finished my tree mask for Elisa. The idea was a filigreed gate that transforms on it's way up to dead trees. This was my interpretation of her instructions. The first pic is the front gate while the 2nd pic is the finished piece on my daughter. Will have some of Elisa's images posted when they get shot.

New Mask

My....how has time flew. I created this mask when I saw promo pics of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent. My wife took these pics several weeks ago, but with house projects and vacation-I just got to them now. Enjoy Model is Cara White. Photos by Visioluxus

Finished the Rhino Beetle Mask

Here it is-the finished mask. I only took three pics with the point-and-shoot......Elisa will have more when she schedules a shoot and a model.

More done on the Hercules Beetle Victorian Mask

I have been real busy with work and a night class...BUT I did get to relax and work more on my beetle mask.



The main body gilded and enameled. The head is enameled black and the body is enameled a rich jade green.



Here are the wing covers (enameled black) which will be opened to show the bug in flight.



Here is the head piece (or crown or additional horns...) This is also enameled Jade green.



Here are the legs.

What I did this Xmas

This year’s Christmas card that I created for the owners of my work. Each year, our department creates a card that everyone signs (about 1000 employees) and presents it at our annual Xmas party. This is the 4th card I created, but the first with my cartoons. The card (book) measures 9x12 and is as thick as any other pop-up book. Check out the rest on my Flickr page HERE.




...and the tree has 10 LED lights and sing "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" when the last page is opened.

Astronomical Mechanism for my Victorian Airship

Here is my Antikythera mechanism in progress. It's just shy of a quarter in size and is still missing some gears and spheres. I will place this right beside my Captain's chair on the bridge of the Airship.

New Website Smell

Wife just redesigned the website to better view on tablets and phone (plus update all of the cool new things I created). Check it out here. (Also-will have the new Sun Mask out soon).

Starting again on the Tarot Mask Set

My wife and I are restarting the Tarot Mask Card Set again now that we both have evolved to a higher level of artistic execution. I am starting with the Sun Mask. Here is some sketches and a pic of original. I also put the pic of my devil head to give you an impression of what the sun will finally look like.

Here are 2 pics from the wedding reception. The reception was held in the Natural History Museum in LA. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. I am glad for the opportunity to be a part of this.

A little break from the Airship

I took a comission to work on two masks for a wedding reception based on something I did several years ago. Here are the glamour shots that Elisa took. I will post the reception pics later (when I get them). Enjoy.

Victorian Airship Construction Status

My Victorian ship's construction is underway. Finished the bow and now working on the front viewing deck/ballroom. Finishing up the staircases now.

Inspiration Strikes Again!!!!

I bought this book at ECCC and the artist drew this image inside the front cover. I am so in love with it that I am going to create it.......and travel the world! Thank you M.C. Barrett.

Colossus of Hattin

The colossus was created in 1187 to battle Richard the Lionheart in the first Crusade. The colossus turned the tide of battle just enough to drive out the invaders.

Champion for the Sultan Salah ad-Din

Here are some more pics for my Crusader Robot under Salah ad-Din. Still steampunk-but with an Islamic/Ottoman flair. The helmet was based on the Sultan's Calvary and the armor was based off of the foot soldiers. The ax is more of a Persian design.
